The British gambling commission has launched a consultation that calls the industry, consumers and other stakeholders to stricter requirements for online operators.
Appeal for case studies and lived experiences, the regulatory authority says that there are indications that the operators do not specify thresholds for measures at appropriate levels and that they do not take the appropriate measures or not act quickly enough if they recognize the risk of potential damage .
In the immediate initiation of the consultation process, the dialogue is concerned with the ability to identify consumers who may be damaged by gambling, and then interacting and take action to prevent these damage.
As part of the new requirements, the UKGC suggests that online gambling operators must act based on information that they have on the susceptibility of a consumer and introduce stricter requirements, including defined evaluation of affordability with the thresholds set by the Commission.
In addition, the group also demonstrates evidence of how the thresholds should look like for these evaluations of affordability whatever they are and how the operators are required to protect consumers according to such measures.

“We are aware that gambling companies have to take further action and that the Commission must provide fixed requirements in order to set uniform standards.
